John and I flew home on Wednesday August 7th, picked up our kids from their Aunt's house and then everyone (Dave, Rach, Jordan and their families) came back down to be with us for a few more days.
It was SO FUN to hug my kiddos and spend some time catching up on the adventures we all had over the past ten days. It was also fun to see some of John's family and enjoy some SOAB fun with them. (That's southern Alberta fun, in case you didn't know;)
We spent a day at Walley's beach, which means of course that a giant pit of mud would need to be created. But of course!
I led everyone on a hike which was supposed to be a zero incline stroll to Crooked Creek Falls. It ended up being a moderate hike right up to Crooked Creek Falls AND Sofa Basin.
The older nieces and nephews loved it, but ummmm...I may not ever be forgiven by some.
Does it help that the view was stunning!
Our third and final day together was spent attending the heritage day parade, watching red necks compete in the mud bog, and attending the Chinook Rodeo competition in the evening before finishing the week together off with a smashing fireworks show.
Everybody left the following (Sunday) morning and our house has never seemed so quiet!
We went to church and then we all came home, gathered in the basement and fell asleep until 5:00 pm. haha
We all felt exhausted in the most delightfully content way.
