It's been a beautiful week, one that has brought many tell tale signs of spring. For starters, we are seeing little robins everywhere, and often while eating dinner, we'll look out our kitchen window to see half a dozen or so sitting in our crab apple tree.
We've gone on a few more drives out of town to see the Eagles, but I think they have (for the most part) moved on. Now we are noticing ducks paired up happily floating on every pond and dug out we pass. John and I found several nests made by Geese, which reminded me of the dozens and dozens of nests we saw last year at Freeze out Lake. Very cool.
I've heard that wolves have been spotted in Waterton, and tomorrow morning I plan to drive out early in hopes of spotting them myself. Oh I could be so lucky!! (Though I've probably just jinxed it by mentioning my plan, so forget I said anything about wolves ok?)
Other signs of spring:
Sports are underway, and the kids do not have a shortage of things to do. With Champs finishing up, soccer will soon begin, as will softball, and training for the local Kids Marathon. It's so nice to have some sunny warm days that make the kids (and me) want to get out and be more active. I especially enjoy being able to once again say, "KIDS - for goodness sake - go play OUTSIDE!!!"
I've missed being able to say that;)
I've missed being able to say that;)
Here is a pic of Abby on her last day of Champs. She had never had any experience with basketball ever before. I thought she did pretty darn good considering. She, on the other hand, thought she was practically WNBA;)
Sam did slightly less exceptional but that is only because he did not necessarily care. He spent most of the time on court dancing about, hugging his team mates, cheering for himself, and throwing himself around in all sorts of dramatic and amusing ways. If he was trying to be the next Michael Jordan - I'd say he missed the boat. However, if he was trying to be the next Charlie Chaplin - he NAILED it! There were many Tuesday nights when John and I fell asleep laughing about his silly behavior at champs.
I'll miss that;)
I went to a fun "Favorite Things" party where we each brought 10 of our favorite thing to share with everybody else. I shared my favorite bobby pins that come from Bozeman Montana. (Thanks for getting them to me Sarah!) It was a great party, and I came home inspired with lots of recipes for treats, cool new nail polish, and supplies/tips for cleaning. I'm excited to try it all - and I'm pretty sure John will think I'm awesome for it;)!
It has been a sunny sunny week, and so I went out on Wednesday and bought the first sunscreen of the year, as well as sunglasses for the family. While at the store, I couldn't help but get some tank tops and swim shorts for everyone too.
John reminded us all this morning that we could very well still have a bad snow storm or two, but I think he's just trying to rain on my parade.
I don't care what he says - It's SPRING I tell ya!!!!
